Recall Your Path.

Deep inside of you, what helps you to stay course? I have practiced yoga since 2008. My yoga teacher grew up in the U.S, so she spoke and wrote English very smoothly. Because of that she could jump into a new style of yoga which was offered only in English. Thanks to her, I was able to learn about Yin yoga early in its history.

Yin yoga was founded by Paul Grilley. I took part in his classes several times in Japan. I resonated with how he saw people and their styles.

I was especially energized by his words in the “Anatomy for Yoga with Paul Grilley” DVD to walk on my path.

I believe that if you don’t outgrow those little rules of thumb, that I or anyone else teaches you, you’ve never trusted the spirit that lies inside you, ever.

If that’s the case, you’ve missed the point of yoga.  If you’ve never gone through a crisis, of what you experience as different from what you were taught? If you’ve never faced it and humbly said, ‘this is what I’ve lived through.’  This is what I’m gonna teach.  ‘No matter what I was taught.’  If you’ve never faced that, you’ve not found the spirit inside of you.

When I heard those words for the first time, I cried. Those words snuggled up to me like cats. I sensed his solitude and courage.

Even now his words live in my heart. When I feel solitude, these words breathe into my heart and stand in my corner to support me.

Have you met such a person who gave you such words in your life? What kind of words help you to recall your path and keep walking on it?
