Currently human society has became like a world in comic books. Some people treat people like machines. That attitude aspires to perfectionism which is far from wholeness. Their brains are frozen but they believe that they think a lot. When people forget humanity, they start to value feeling secure over dignity.

It is 100 minutes long, but I felt it was a very short movie. I was planning to leave the movie theater 10 minutes earlier than the last scene, to catch my train. But before I knew it, the movie was already finished.

The following quote from the movie captures its essence.

‘I am not a client, a customer, nor a service user. I am not a shirker, a scrounger, a beggar nor a thief.

I am not a national insurance number, nor a blip on a screen. I paid my dues, never a penny short, and was proud to do so.

I don’t tug the forelock but look my neighbour in the eye. I don’t accept or seek charity.

My name is Daniel Blake, I am a man, not a dog. As such I demand my rights. I demand you treat me with respect.

I, Daniel Blake, am a citizen, nothing more, nothing less. Thank you.’

I hope that many people become aware of this ridiculous world which values security over dignity.
